Ideations
They never went away
They never left her alone
The depression slowly settled
On her weary frame.
“He’ll never truly forgive you
For all that you’ve done.”
The mocking whispers taunted
As she picked up the gun.
The cold hard metal handle
Laid heavy in her hand
The black empty barrel
Stared back at her face.
She had already checked the chamber,
She had one single clean shot.
One shot to get it over
One shot to end it all.
One by one she mentally said goodbye
To her mother, father, brother.
She apologized one more time
To the man who was her lover.
She whimpered as she pressed the gun
To her soft white temple
Her bottom lip only quivered once
Before she pulled the trigger.
